Mailed N400 on Feb 13th(priority mail)
my check is still not cashed as of 2/23/06
Did anyone mail his app during the week of Feb 13th, and his check was cached?

would advise you to wait for atleast 2 more weeks before starting to worry a little about this..

I'm helping a friend who's following in my footsteps at NSC (Detroit DO) by almost exactly a year from when I started. His N-400 RD was 02/15/06, check was cashed 02/21/06 (canceled check image with LIN# on front was available on-line that evening).

2 packets from me were received on 2/8 and checks were cashed on 2/13, no receipt notice in sight. NSC is pretty slow in their correspondence. On the contrary, I had applied for my green card replacement on 12/5 and got fingerprinted and received the same in under 2 months. It appears that NSC seems to move personnel around to service certain categories for periods of time.

It has been 16 days since I sent my application and the check is still not cashed and my application wasn't returned either.

What shall I do?

Please try to be patient. In my case even though the checks were cashed after a week, the receipt took almost 2+ weeks to get to me. It appears that NSC is processing off and on.

My friend's recent experience and that of others in the NSC thread suggests something is wrong with your submission. Your check should have been cashed a week ago if you apply others' timelines.

Call your bank. Maybe there was an issue with the check and they refused to process it?

Was your N-400 even received at the NSC? Did you get (i.e. pay for) the delivery confirmination option with your Priority Mail? Otherwise, Priority Mail only promises it might get there a little faster than First Class. That's why I always recommend using a service that offers full tracking, such as Express Mail from the USPS or FedEX, DHL, etc.

Call the National Customer Service toll free number to see if they can help you. They probably won't do much for you as they'll probably tell you it is too soon to be asking about these things...
