NSC card received

tuesday

Registered Users (C)
I received my plastic card yesterday. It\'s cute looking little card. It\'s the first time that I see a \'green card\'. To my surprise, it is actually a white card, not green. Wonder why they call it green card.

Anyway, I had my passport stamped in July, 2001. So it is a fairly long wait. My wife has not received her card yet.

BTW, does anyone know what "category E17" on the card means?

Congrats

Which Local center you got PP stamped? Though, it looks longer for you, be happy as there are others not got the card yet. I got PP stamped in June 2001 and still waiting.

      Congrats again.

No Title

E17 means employment catagory, applied under EB1 for dependent.
7 for dependent, 6 for principle.
1 for Eb1, 2 for EB2 and 3 for EB3.
E for employment catagory and F for family catagory.
Mine is
E26 which means employment catagory, applied under EB2 for principle applicant.

No Title

I thought second no depends on the type of petition eg like multinational etc.,. for the principal applicant

Thanks, huracan. You are right. E17 is for the principal and E19 is for the spouse

A complete list for all the categories can be found in the INS website (www.ins.gov) by searching for \'E17\' within that site.

Tuesday...I ran into same situation!

Hi Tuesday,
I got mine little earlier than yours. But, my wife\'s card is not in yet. I am really worried because it has been almost 2 months since I got mine. What do I do...any suggestions?
Whether I should really worry about it now or wait for some more time?
Any suggestions are welcome!

Yurekha...you may want to call the INS AVM system to followup on the progress

I called the NSC phone number last night (when it is not busy) and listened carefully for the messages recorded for me and my wife\'s case. The message says my card had been ordered on 02/27/2002 and my wife\'s card had been ordered on 03/05/2002. So at least I know that the two cases were not processed at the same time. The message also says that the cards will arrive in 350-380 days. I don\'t know how fast they are in making cards, but we are going to wait for a few more weeks. If I had waited for 2 months after the card was order, I would go to the local INS office and to make sure the card was not lost in the mail.

Let\'s see if other friends have better suggestions. Anyway, keep us posted on the progress and hope all of us have our cards soon.

Tuesday....thanks for sharing your story!

Hi Tuesday,
In fact, I have been checking almost 3 times a week about my wife\'s card since I got my card in Jan \'02. But, no progress or no change in the AVM. So, I don\'t think that it\'s going to help unless taking time to call IIO. But, as you know, it takes forever to get the call go thru.
Anyway, hopes are still there...to get it soon!

Received Plastic card from NSC

We had our passport stamped in June at CHICAGO. I had my stamping on June 4st and my wife on 13th. My wife received her card on Mar/4th and I received my card on 8th. Happy for now. We will go through the next ordeal after 5 years. Till then relax probably.
