NSC approval, but stamping at San Francisco?

my quest

I got my approval from NSC. But currently I am at client site in San Francisco. So can I get my pp stamped at San Francisco.

I know some have done at different INS office (then that mentioned approval letter), but within NSC.

1. Can I get it stamped in San Francisco?
2. Will there be any complication since San Francisco falls under CSC?
3. Will it effect the arrival of my plastic card?

All suggestions and thoughts are welcomed.

Thank you.

I think you can. I have seen 2 cases that fall in to this category. I just read one message on this site last week. The person applied from chicago and got the approval and he or she got the passport stamped in Atlanta.

Check this out also.

dassri "Passport stamped in Chicago 7/5" 7/5/01 1:03pm

Hope this helps.

Thank you rk2

In gtm\'s case, it seems, his approval notice had chicago ins office address for stamping.

I remember reading the Atlanta case, it is similar to mine.

I hope nothing will go wrong. I don\'t want to add complications at this stage.

Thanks again.

I think you cannnot do the stamping outside a region that the Service Center supports. THe process is like this. The NSC sends some papers to the local INS center and when you go for the stamping they use this paper as the reference. Also they log on to the NSC and cross check the same. If you go to any INS outside the region then I think they will request your papers there and then stamp your passport. In any case fly back to Chicago and get the stamping to avoid any delay/complications. Dont go to INS Chicago on Monday. Its very busy(I am also from CHICAGO, Schaumburg).
Good Luck
