Hi all,

If you have gone thr' the threads of new approvals, and also I have heard from many of my close friends who recently got approved (I know it for sure, verified source) that all of these guys are mostly from April to Oct 2002 period. Myself being in March 2003 (RD) do not see any FP or RFE or anything like that.
My point is why such a random approvals or wide spectrum which is not consistent and does not follow any order? I understand it is case by case basis for USCIS but surely not Month by Month basis I suppose!!
I think somebody needs to train BCIS folks to be trained in the sequence of months & year, they almost forgot the math.

Hsssssshhhhhhh......really frustrated and living just because of the friends like you in the same pool. Thank you guys.

Batch-Piles theory

If you really believe in Karma- there is your answer.
Besides there are all kinds of theories- randomness/sadism etc etc being the most popular and consistent.
A more scientific theory is the Batch-Piles theory.
Batch- BCIS works in batches- sometimes on 140s and sometimes on 485s and various subcategories thereof. That is why you see a spate of approvals of a type and then nothing-for that type.
Piles- The work is divided amongst agents- in piles. 1-100 may go to agent A and 101-200 to agent B and so on. So if you are 101 you may be at the top of a pile and if you are hundred you could be at the bottom of another pile.

Don't worry be Happy
My 2 cents:D

WOW!!! I like your explanation a lot. I am sure their pile size is close to infinity as I feel there is only one person who is effedtively working!!!! (this is the same government stuff guys!!!)

If a pattern could be drawn with 2nd FP- it will not be random at all. But as we see there is no pattern in 2nd FP.
HTH

This Randomness started on I-140 first. Can you believe there are May/June 2002 guys are waiting for approval I-140? some cases got approval in fifteen days in November 2003.
Why i am taking about I-140 here because its approval gives you the liberty to use AC-21. If they loose job they might need to start allover again. My I-140 took more than 14 months. It was almost year after my layoff. I spent those days in the chill.
I was expecting I-485 is going to take at least 3 years. Fortunately I got approval after around 15 months.

also

Also Luck factor plays an important role, some guys are still waiting from 2001 which looks pretty disappointing.May god give them courage to handel this long wait.

amen !!:p

Me and my friend applied for I-140 at same time thru same company for same skill set. my i-140 approved in 3 months where as his took 8 months.

I understand that it is truely based on officers. Some lazy INS employee will take long time to approve.

consider the AP , if u apply the AP local ins office they will issue on same day. but where if u mail the AP to service centre they are taking now days 1 year to approve the simple Travel document.
It is not Karma theory, it is lack of confidence of the INS empoyees and careless behavoiur of these officers. They are really seeing the patience of the people.

I will tell u my recent exp in newark international airport.

They are 5 officers working at INS entry point. two of them are our indians and rest of them are ... (CENSORED) .

The entire queue at end is divided and assigned to all six officers. The indian US INS officiers cleared the queue withing 5 mins . where as other counter they not even cleared 10 percent. I observed they are drinking coffee and doing the job on thier own time. This is simple example. Why our cases are approving so fast
( Hope you guys understand).

Guys stay away from making sterotypical/racial comments. Several of them even though statistically true are still very inappropriate.
