Hi,
We(me and my family) completed our green card journey and here are the details.
Labour -Substitue- PD June 2001(my own labour pendind for 2.5 years)
I-140 RD: 11/12/04 AD: 04/12/05
I-485 RD: 11/12/04 AD: 04/12/05
I-131 RD: 11/12/04 AD: 01/15/05
I-765 RD: 11/12/04 AD: 01/10/05
Finger Printing: RD: 11/24/04 completed: 12/03/04
Company: Big tech company(public) with 2500 employees
I never had any LUDs except for I-485 after completion of finger printing and on 03/25/05 may be mass update.
I never called emergency number or FBI for name check. My advice is please wait patiently all of you will get GC.The more you worry the longer it will take.

Well, for all those who are waiting for more than an year, patience sometimes run out.

You have made it by supersonic speed after crawling at labor stage. Well, everything is finally balanced out.

I think a lot of people who are getting 485 approval are getting some LUD few weeks before approval. Many people have written about it to be probably mass update.

I think, it is update on 485 that name checks have been received.

Remember, one officer told me that name checks come back in lots as FBI follows quota system.

That probably explains, why many people get LUD on 485 without status update. Looks like USCIS enters name check status causing LUD. Probably LUD sometime after FP status update means name check update.

Should we start a thread on people of got LUD on 485 few weeks before approval? That may probably throw some light on name check funda :confused: :confused:

GC_GoneCase, interesting theory. But I guess it is gonna be hard to collect data to see when actually batches (quotas) are passed on for processing and how long they take to process one batch.
What is more important and easier to find out is the average "processing time for name checks", which is from the USCIS having your fingerprint results up to a "name check LUD" (your theory).
I think this averege was just below 4 months at the end of last year.

I prefer to think the LUDs without message change happened to people with close RD is a sign that these files have been removed from shelf and assigned to immigration officers.
 
My theory is based on AD for 485, not RD.

I will try to compile data and see what we get.
