Hi,

I moved from NJ to NC in Dec 2006. Stayed in an apartment in Charlotte, NC for 7 months before moving to a house in Harrisburg, NC. I don't remember if I submitted AR-11 (change of addr) while my stay in Charlotte, NC apartment. Moved to house in July 2007. I need to file N-400 but was advised by a friend to first file AR-11 to inform USCIS of latest address. My questions are as follows:
1) Can I call USCIS to find out the address they have on file for me (since I don't remember if I filed AR-11 when moved to apartment. If so what is the number , since I am in NC state? Do they give address on file info. over phone?
2) If USCIS still has my NJ address, do I need to inform for both address changes (NJ to NC apartment and NC apartment to NC house).

Note: On my 2007 taxes forms I have filed using my Charlotte, NC apartment address.

Please help.

Change of Address before filing N-400

I checked with USICS and they said that change of address is only to inform the government your whereabouts. N-400 is not related to AR-11. They said that ideally an AR-11 should be filed everytime one changes their address (on a so-called permanent basis). I was told to inform only the latest address change via the AR-11 form to prevent any confusion of intermediate address (apartment address in NC).

The best thing is AR-11 can be filed online (no more mailing the form).
