Notify INS about re-entry using AP

Do I have to notify INS, if I enter into US using AP. I was told that, we have to send photo copy of the 'port of entry stamped page' from the passport to INS to notify about our re-entry. Is it correct? If yes, which form should I use?

huh? No. you dont have to notify USCIS if you use AP. If you get multiple pages in your AP, the officer at POE keeps one page and puts stamp on the page you have. If you got only one page with your AP, the officer would make a copy and keep it for his records.

They shouldn't keep (or make) any copies. They get all the inforamtion they need online by scanning your passport. They will stamp one copy of the AP, and if you have more than one they may occasionally stamp the others.

It so happens that the officer at the POE takes a copy for their records and there are a lot of people on this forum who have experienced this. On rare ocassions, they dont take a copy, but most of the times they do.

Do we need to carry the 2 AP originals ?

So, it is essential to carry the two original APs we received from INS ?
Will carrying just one original suffice ?

I ask this because my spouse left the US with only one original. The 2nd original is still at home here.
Do I need to mail the other original to India ?

Thanks

Your wife is fine. One AP is fine to re-enter!

It should be allright. One copy is sufficient.
