07/17/2003: Notice of Cancellation of Re-Fingerprinting Appointments - Any Good News?

- The fingerprint is valid for 15 months, but beginning sometime back, the Service Centers started sending out re-fingerprint notices to the I-485 waiters even if they took the print only a few months back. A large number of people complied with the refingerprint notices and took another fingerprint, because people assumed that it was not errors but probably related to security clearance needs.

- Now, all of sudden, people start receiving one or two sentence notice from the BCIS that the fingerprint was taken in their cases less than 13 months and BCIS was cancelling the refingerprint notices. Until the motive of such change of practice is made available, one can only guess its implication. One implication can be that the BCIS may adjudicate such 485 cases before the fingerprint expires in 15 months. Readers, this is just a wild guess of this reporter with no reliable sources of information. Let's cross our fingers, and wait and see!

Got it

Have you not done two FPs?

I am sure nothing is coming in shape yet. INS is still not getting organized, approvals have reduced big time and very soon ((( days of waiting period will be increased by another six months to 1 year.

People will like me, wre getting ready to file the fourth EAD/ AP.(Although third AP has also not got approved yet).

Frustrated/ Very Frustrated.

may01,

I actually got 3 FP notices and yes, I did appear for my 2nd FP. After I told them about my 1st FP, they checked their computer, verified that the 1st FP went through fine and wrote a line on my 2nd FP notice that I didn't have to do it again!

I understand how you feel. Today I am mailing my 3rd EAD/AP forms to my lawyer. When I went for my EAD photos, the lady even recognized me and asked me not to worry about the deposit as I am a "regular customer". I had to tell the lady that even though I like her, I would be very happy if I didn't see her next year.

It sucks in every way dude ... and I also feel it.

what if a second FP is already done

i received 2 FP notices in 1 month period and I did take the second FP also. Online message have been updated after the second FP(It did after the first FP also). What happens now? Will they consider the first FP received date or the second received date

plasticcard,

I did my 1st FP on Jan 2, 2003.

The main reason why I didn't give my 2nd FP in June 2nd (even though I went there) was that I can call TSC by Jan 2004 that "my FP is about to expire in 3 more months", tell them it would save TSC some money if they approve me immediately instead of sending another FP notice (just like the report says).

If I had given my 2nd FP on June 2nd, when I call them in Jan 2004, they'll tell me that I still have till Sep. 2004 for my FP to expire!!

FP Descheduled

I did my FP in Jan 03 and received 2nd notice in July. However, got a 2 line letter cancelling the FP, since the last one was done in less than 12 months ago. Online message still says a letter requesting FP has been sent...

Importantly, the letter came from Vermont Service Center!!

Hmmm! Perhaps some of our applications have been sent to other service centers for processing.

And the good part is that these TSC mistakes had been found out and corrected by other cneters.

bigking45,

Which letter(s) you received from VSC- the second FP notice or the Cancellation notice or both?

What is your ND, FP dates?

Thanks,
