Hello Everyone,

I just got a notice of approval I-797 about an I-130 form that I applied for my wife in Jan 2001. The USCIS mentioned that my case has been approved. Is there anyone who already went through this process who could let me know what is going to be the next step and how long more she will probably wait until she gets her Green Card?

I just got a notice of approval I-797 about an I-130 form that I applied for my wife in Jan 2001. The USCIS mentioned that my case has been approved. Is there anyone who already went through this process who could let me know what is going to be the next step and how long more she will probably wait until she gets her Green Card?

If your wife is here in the US, the next step would be for her to apply for I-485 based on approved I-130. She can also apply for I-765 and I-131 for work/travel. If she is not in the US, she has to contact the nearest embassy/consulate and process her application from there.

Provided that your are USC, or her priority dates are current. Please, keep in mind that if she is in US, she must have her own status as I-130 approval doesn't give any status.
