Nothing is happening for CP..........

Hi,

DOn't you think that every change in policies are coming only for those, who applied 485. like recent one of FBI name check. my concern is don't you think that CP applicants should be provided privileges of AC 21 and EAD now. Earlier it was only provided to 485 applicants because CP was faster than 485 but now those applied for CP are also in the wating for a long time therefore it is genuine to give them some reliefe.
I'll appreciate if something for CP can be included in the recent campaign to president.

Name check was never an issue in CP cases. But this is a big bottleneck in the I-485 case.

CP has no benefits other than faster processing. If you took a risk then you can still convert to I-485 (assuming that the PD are current).
 
I can't convert into 485 since Pd is not current. I am concern about these issues. I think it would a good point to mention that CP filers should be able to convert to 485 and vice versa.
 
A good point that people going through CP should be able to also file 485 and EAD etc. But that would apply only for those already in the US on a visa like H-1B etc.
But what about the people going through CP being outside of the US ? Having no US-visa ?
That's our case. We're living in Canada, have an approved I-140 with PD 02/06 and ware waiting and waiting.....
We will never have a chance to file 485 or to appply for an EAD. The only thing we can do is wait until one fine day our PD becomes current.....

Ok, we can go and file for an H-1B, but as our attorney told us and besides that it's a well-known fact, that there are so many applications and only so little H-1B available. Shall we go and spend our money on attorney and filing fees for an H-1B and risk losing it because we don't get one ?

How do you see that ? I guess we have to execute our most virtuous behaviour and continue being patient.....
 
CP filers should allow to get EAD/AC21

:(We could ask to allow CP filers to file 485 with out having dates current and date of CP filing should be considered to get AC21 and EAD. Lets come together and ask for these relives for CP filers.

I agree, until the bottleneck disappears, CP filers are caught in a situation where their job security could be vunerable, if you consider the retrogressed wait times. Last summer's events has caught many applicants in this way and these applicants are left out on a limb, especially if they cannot convert to I-485 if they are no longer current. This is an issue that has emerged from last summer, which needs resolve.
