hey fellas,
Was reviewing P4 and the list of documents. However, they havent mentioned anything about notarizing any documents. this is contrary to what I heard on this forum. Prospective interviewees for august - does any of your P4 requires that your documents be notarized and if so, which ones are they (employer letter/birth certificate/PCC??).
Please clarify.

Hey Peter_guest:

The P4 that I received doesn't mention any notarization at all. The only document that people have mentioned that needs to be notarized (for Employment based greencards) is the employment letter. (Oh, I think for those who have dependents and are sponsoring them, there might be further notarization requrements). At least in my case, this was also the only document that was to be notarized when the initial application to USCIS was made -- I-360 in my case, I-140 in other employment categories. I just followed the advice of my attorney, who suggested that the updated employment letter I take with me to the interview also be notarized.

Since employment based categories are, well, based on proof of employment, I guess having this document notarized gives additional weight to it. In effect, an employer is making a legally binding statement. That's my take on it.

You need to notarize the original employmnet letter and if you have a spouse or children then you need to get a notarized I-134 form.
