Not fliing taxes affects N-400?

I recently applied for citizenship but haven't filed taxes because I never made above the required $5,550/year by the IRS of which then you have to file. The N-400 asks if you failed to file "Required" taxes, does this mean I'm okay? Or should I worry? I only ever worked part time jobs as a student and taxes were taken out of my paychecks when I did work. Have never been contacted by the IRS that I owe them anything. I've been working part time jobs, inconsistently since 2005 when I turned 16; I mainly focused on my studies and mostly worked over the summers during college but only for a few weeks a year.

Any input would be welcome; especially from those who have gone through the process (did you get asked to prove tax returns/filing at the interview?)

Don't worry about that. You are right about your interpretation of the question -- if you never had enough income to be required to file then you are fine.

If you wre never about the IRS linit to file federal taxes you are ok. But I probably would bring some documentation to proof it just in case.
