Hi Guys,

My friend could not able to check his I-140 case status,
inspite of having his case#, when he called the customer
service, he was informed that the database was not
updated with his I-140 details. I don't understand when
his all other details (I-131, I-765, I-485) got updated
in database and he was able to check his case-status,
and his AP and EAD got approved. His attorney is saying
that we cannot insist the USCIS guys about updating
the database with his I-140 details.
My question is when his I-140 details not updated in the
database, how he can be able to know the case status.
I want to know whether anybody got similar experience,
if yes, how to resolve this.
His details are:
(TSC) I-140 SRC050075XXXX, RD 10/14/2004.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Database not updated

In my case, the I-140 shows the usual message since day one ( " we received your .. it is taking 500 days to process..."), Even though my 140 was approved in the beginning of this month, my attorney sent me a copy of the approval, I did not receive any approval email. Even today the 1-800 self-service gives the same message, no approval message !!
Hence, I think for few cases the status or the data is not updated regularly, all such applicants(including me ) must still rely on the snail mail for updates !!

It was similar in my case. My I140 RD was august 15. Whenever I tried to check, it would give the message" The case number.... cannot be found in the system ect.. check back later". After about 3-4 months of this I stopped checking it. Luckily my case got approved in april 2004 from VSC. After approval though, i could go into the system and check the approval message. So i dont know when the glitch got corrected. My Attorney also gave VSC a call and it seems they attributed it to a computer glitch because they could see it in the internal system.
