Norfolk Update-(Was: notice lost in mail)

A few weeks ago I posted a question about what happens if a notice is lost in the mail. Other than the receipt notice, I have not received anything regarding my N-400.

I went for the Infopass and was told that VSC had not taken any further action since receiving my application. No fingerprinting notice was mailed out. I was told to write to them (which I already had).

Well, I actually got a written reply from VSC. They said that my application "is pending fingerprinting scheduling".

I don't know why they are so slow. When I was sitting in the waiting area for my Infopass, I saw only two officers conduction interviews. I see on the latest local office time update that they "are processing" up to March 10 2005.

PD: June 22, 2005
Local office: Norfolk, VA

Superho,

Thanks for taking the time to update everyone on the situation. Some offices are notoriously slow, and unfortunately, Norfolk is one of the worst.

You were wise to obtain the infopass appointment to make enquiries, and at least you know for sure now that your fingerprint notice was not lost in the mail. It's hard to believe, though, that you sent in your application in June, and you're still waiting to receive your appointment for biometrics!

My priority date is July 14, 2004. I did not receive the fingerprint letter until December 2004 and I was fingerprinted in January 2005.

When I had my interview, I noticed three officers. There was one white lady, a black lady, and an asian gentleman. I was interviewed the asian gentlemen in June.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't have been that vexed. However, my wife and I have been living apart for more than 3 years now, with no sign of her visa interview at the consulate. I was hoping the citizenship would get done fast, so that she could get upgraded from F2A to IR category. No such luck, I guess...

:( and
