Non US citizens marrying US citizens

I would like to know the following answers (the FAQ link doesn't seem to work):

- What kind of work permit would a non US citizen qualify for as a spouse of a US citizen? How soon can they apply for this permit?

-What is the immigration process, and the length of time one must be married to a US citizen before he can get US citizenship?

I try not to call you a lazy person, but why do you not first looking for answers from the USCIS website!?

For the 1st question, a USC spouse is entitled to a I-551 (so called green card), which allows the individual to work almost any job in the US (even joining the military) except the ones that are strictly open to USC.

here is the link that should answer the second question for you

Naturalization for Spouses of U.S. Citizens

Normally it takes 6 months to 1 year to get Green Card. Recently i came across of a case of a person waiting for 12years and still not getting GC filed a case in Federal Court at North District of Illinois. http://207.41.16.133/rfcViewFile/10cv635.pdf Much depends on your luck and documents you have.

timescale

I am US Citizen, married to non US citizen, it took 4 months for her to get GC after applying.

I presume that's because your spouse was inside the US. When the noncitizen is outside the US and has to interview at the consulate, the overall process is more like 6-9 months.

I am not sure what Wiz70 is trying here. It seems Wiz70 is a foreign national trying to find an "easy" way to come and work/live in the US. I deduce this from his earlier postings (by the way, don't expect any response, he just posts once per thread) asking about how to join the military if he lives abroad and how to obtain citizenship through the military. Now he is trying to find out how to come and/or stay in the US through marriage. Do you notice that his questions are just generic questions?
