Hello Everyone,
I work for a big university in CA and 6 years expire in Feb'05 and the attorney talked us into filing into NonRIR vs RIR fortunately 1 year before my 6 years expire so that I will be eligible for H1b extension.

Does any one has any idea how this would work. I understand that non-rir is DOL supervised recruitment effort. This really makes things complicated I hope when you work for big employers.
What is the solution for this kind of problems.
Wait and wait and wait or is there something we could do........
Thanks

In normal LC petition for permanent labor, you have to go through SESA/SWA supervised recruitment.

In RIR cases, employer is required to submit recruitment report for the stated job-offer. Basically employer needs to attest that they have unsuccessfully tried to locate/hire qualified US worker with in last 6 months.

If employer routinely places advertisement in the print media then RIR is easy process is comparatively easy and fast way to get LC approved. Also, it also depends upon the region job is offered.
