I need help in finding a non profit organization willing to sponsor me for a H1B visa. If someone heard of an oganization willing to do that please let me know. I already applied at some universities which were looking for programmers but no answer yet, and also I don't know if universities are a non profit organization.
Also I would lie to know your thoughts about why US empoyers are reluctant when it comes to interviewing someone which is not in US.

I know not many employers want to sponsor but I was talking about something else.
I posted my cv on several job portals and clearly mentioned that I need sponsorship. There were 2 companies which contacted me, but when I mentioned that I wasn't in US they canceled the interview. That was my question: why?

Well, it takes a long time to get a new H1, in particular now that the quota is full.
If you were in the US on H1 already, it would be a simple H1 transfer.

It may not even have anything at all to do with immigration status. Some companies do not want to pay relocation expenses for some positions. If I apply for a job in New York, I may not be seriously considered since I live in Florida. Why would they contact me and then cancel an interview? Well, maybe they found an attractive local candidate. Or maybe the person that scheduled the interview was not aware of the local candidates only restriction. Or maybe they will consider candidates out of the area but my credentials may not be strong enough for them to do so. There are numerous possible reasons, but it appears that the company has made a business decision not to proceed with the interview. It may have nothing at all to do with your immigration status.
