Non availability letter for Birth Cert. from Pune

Does anybody know if Pune municipality issues non availability letter for birth cert.?

If so, how did you go about getting it.

No, Pune municipality does not issue them. I submitted one from PMC stating that birth not registered, I got RFE. Had to submit affidavits. Normally, they are very good - if you were born in registered hospital, they check their records. You may have to pay (fees or whatever). My case, the records were not available.

thanks for answering the query. Can you please clarify your response?

PMC is the Pune municipal corporation. You said the municipality doesn't issue the non availability letter, but you also said that you submitted some document from PMC that birth is not registered. So, I am not sure whether you got the non availability letter or not. Could you give details on what type of document you got from PMC?
