no response from employer

Hi there,

Well its been nearly 2 months since i came to US.My employer has not shown any interest towards my employment & has not paid me any money at all. I am currently staying in my friend's place & some how i could procure a job.The client needs a contract to be signed with my employer but my employer has never responded to my request to signup the client who is interested in hiring me.
I am in a dielemmatic state.

I request any knowledgeable person to assist me in knowing the law & further course of action that i can take.
