No response for 4 weeks H-4 Visa

Every one,
Does any one know how long it takes to get H-4 processed in Chennai embassy? First time, my wife submittted the documents on June th and got the response after two weeks asking for more. Like photographs of client, employer, projects, etc.,

I sent all the documents and she re-submitted on 1 st July again through ttservices drop box. Its been a month and so far, there is no response from the consulate. When I emailed them two weeks back, they said "She will recieve a response shortly". Two more weeks later, there is no response yet. If any one has recieved resposes recently, plese let me know.

Mine also the same case. My wife dropped her H4 visa application on June 23rd, still she didn't get any response from the consulate. I came to know that for some guys they are issuing visas in 7-10 business days. But I don't know what the hell they are doing with my wife's visa. No one is picking the phone, if I am trying to call the customer service. TTS is always saying 'The documents are still in the Consulate'. One of my friend told me that, the consulate will make the decision with in 6 weeks. There is some rule saying, they won't keep our passport for more than 6 weeks, with out any reason. I am not sure, how valid this information is, but I am planning to contact an attorney, if I won't get any response by next week. if any of you guys have the same problem , please share with us.

Was it the first time you sent it or was there a query and you sent the second time? Recently, a person who works for the same employer as mine, sent for H-4 the second time (first time he got a query and they asked for more docs), he got a response in two weeks, but asked his wife to come for personal appearance. Now, is there a chance that if there is a query, they send it back in two weeks? I would not try to call the embassy too many times and give them the Passport number as there is a chance it could impact negatively.
Let me know if you have any updates.

First time, no queries, nothing happened at all. I will let you know, if some thing happened on my side.
