No receipt

I have filed the I-130 for my son. The check was cashed on 10/17/08 but no receipt so far. What do you think i can do? Is it time to panic?

USCIS can take upto 30-60 days to mail you a receipt. Hang in there you should get it soon

what if we don't receive a receipt in mail even after one year and get the receipt no. via phone......is the physical receipt in importent?

if you dont recieve a it in 30 days from the time you sent it, go make an infopass and harass them

Someone pls tell me politely, I know what an infopass is and I know how to make one. But how is it done? Do you speak to someone on phone? I don't need one, I am just mad keen to know.

I agree that that google link was a bit too condescending for my taste (unless you guys are good buddies and know each other).
From what I've read, you actually get to make an appt thru Infopass to physically meet with an officer.

Thanks, talkingtac, for the info. I found those responses detasteful least to mention. It costs nothing to be nice to people, just a simple virtue of life.
