NO RECEIPT # for I-90 Form

My GC was damaged when I received in the mail. I filed I-90 and returned the original GC to the NSC about a month ago. I called the National Number shortly after that and asked about what to expect. I was told I will get a new receipt number for my I-90 application and was told to wait for a month.

Now one month has passed, I have not received any receipt number of my application. I called the National number this morning again, and I was told a completely different story. This time, I was told I will not get a new receipt number since I sent in my I-90 application for a replacement.

I received conflicting information. Anyone know what should I expect after submitting I-90 form?

Chong, I sincerely don't have that answer for you but I can tell this for sure calling that National Number is going to make you even more confused with new info's each time. Those customer service reps surely have no idea what so ever about anything.
I remember before it was not only one number to contact USCIS (INS) & it was bit more helpful regarding your case informations but now its the one number but no one can tell you the exact fact but rather confuse with all weird info's.
I would say just wait & you must receive a response soon. It might sound offal but ONE MONTH for you & me is enough time to receive some responses but for USCIS it's not. If you look at my signature you'll see I was approved 485 back in Feb this year & still waiting for my plastic.
I have done Bio code 2 twice already but USCIS kept saying they didn't receive that & rather blaming ASC (Application Support Center) being not doing their job right sending my bio to USCIS :D :D :D .
After 485 approval back in Feb & till now I have made numerous calls to USCIS & each experience was greater than other. Therefore I have decided not to torture myself more by calling them but wait. I don't know how many more time I still have to wait but what else can we all do.
Good luck.
Atique.

Atique,

Since my I-485 application already approved, I don't mind waiting for a couple more months to get my gc. My problem is that I don't to wait for a couple more months than to find out the NSC does not have my I-90 application. I just want to be sure my I-90 application is waiting to be process.

Since I received conflicting information when I called the National Number. I have decided to make an INFOPASS. I hope immigration officer can look up my record and confirm that my I-90 form is now pending.

I am getting very frustrated. I just called the National Number, and I was lucky and spoke to an officer. The officer looked up my record and told me the service center sent me the orginal gc on 4/15. The problem is that there is no record in thier system that indicates I sent my original gc back for replacement. She asked me to wait. This is getting very crazy. How many months should I wait. One month has passed, if they don't have a record about my I-90 form application it should indicate that my application was lost.

I have made an INFOPASS for next week, but a co-worker told me I am not going to get much help. She experienced the same problem last year. Her I-90 application was lost and she went to the Federal Plaza in NYC for nothing.

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?
Send them half a dozen I-90. At least, one of them will resurface at some point! :D
