I just went to SCS service center walkin office on Mar 28, Friday.
The office opens from Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2:00pm. They only issue 75 tickets per day, and you have to stay in the line until you reach the front door in order to receive ticket. Therefore, there is no way to know if it's up to 75 limits while you are still in line waiting to get in.
We arrived CSC office at 9:00am, standing in the line under the sun for 3 hours, after getting ticket for under #56 and getting in, officers were calling #38, and it was around 12:00pm. There are about 40 seats available in the office and guard only let 10 people in at the time only when there are 10 seats available in that room. When officer called #56, it was 1:45pm. We only asked two questions and took us 5 minutes to get all the info we need. When we leave the office building, there were still about 20 people trying to get in and find out they won't be able to due to the limit of tickets issuing.
After spoke with officer, here is the summary:
Question 1:
Q: I sent EAD renewal for both my wife and mine on Feb 15, along with AP renewal for my wife. We received AP receipt 5 days later, but never receive both EAD renewal receipts. According UPS record showed CSC received the package on Feb 19, and banks record also showed both application fees have been cleared (cashed) by CSC on Mar 3rd.
Ans: The computer was down at the time, they will not issue any receipt if you apply at the time and not receiving it. INS keeps records in their computer, so if you need an IEAD after 90 days, you can go to local office and apply for it. They will be able to retrieve your information from their computer and issue you IEAD.
Conclusion: I wonder how come I received receipt for AP at the same time computer was down?
However, after providing our "A numbers" we did get WAC numbers for EAD renewal from the officer so we will be able to track the status on line.
Question 2:
Q: Both my wife and my I-485 receipts date are Jan 5th 2002 and FP was cleared on Mar 14th 2002. The FP is going to expire in 3 months, is that anything we can do here?
Ans: There is nothing we can do about it until when it's time for officer to pick up our case. When officer picks up the case and if FP is expired, officer will send FP request to me (again).
Conclusion: I don't think they care about FP expire problems, or I should say it is no longer an excuses asking officers to speed up your case.
Here is the best part regarding to this visit in their office!
I peeked their computer screen and find out how it looked like regarding to our case!!!
1. First screen is a searching page; they can search your case by your name, "A" number, or WAC number. After they put the search and punch enter...
2. Second screen is your bio, it contains everything since you start apply for PR, including but not limit to: DOB, address...
3. Third screen is kind of like pop-up on top of the second screen, it shows everything you applied since you started process the AOS, and I saw 5 items we applied,
1. I-485
2. I-131
3. I-765
4. I-131(renewal)
5. I-765 (renewal)
Conclusion: I guess that it is possible when officer pick your EAD renewal case or AP renewal case or FP expiring fax request (prior Feb 2003) and he or she sees that your EAD or AP or FP is about to expire and it's close to your I-485 processing time so he or she will just go ahead processing you I-485.
Hope this will help!
