No need to apply for Reentry Permit?

My NP is still valid...

I. A of I-131 (page 1) states:

"If you stay outside the United States for less than one year, your are not required to apply for a re-entry permit. You may enter the United States on your Permanent Resident Card(form I-551)"

to apply or not to apply?

1) If you plan to be away for more than 1 year, use your National passport, Green Card and Reentry Permit to return back to the U.S.

2) If you plan to be away for less than 1 year, you will just need your NP and GC.

3) Regardless, if you stay outside of the US for 6 months or more at any one time, you will break your continuous residence requirement for your citizenship.
