Same-day adjudication of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) and Advance Parole travel authorization applications no longer exists at the INS District (local) offices. The change in policy is the result of a memo issued by the INS Executive Associate Commissioner, Office of Field Operations, at INS Headquarters in Washington, D.C. at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15. Security checks, including fingerprints, now must be completed for all applicants for any benefit (including EADs and Advance Parole travel authorizations) before the benefit may be granted. More information on this and related matters should be forthcoming within the next day or so
