No G.C. approval after interview.

One of my friends had interview and after that the INS official told them that, he can't approve the case, as there is a "Freeze" on 485 approvals for G.C. And it might take couple of months before they send the Approval notices.

It is only for the 485 cases which are having Interview or it is happening to all the 485 cases.
 
All I-485 approvals are on hold for the time being. These cases are being held until INS receives back from the FBI an affirmative response on the G-325A name/date of birth check.

Previously, the INS had presumed that if it had not heard back from the FBI within a given period of time that there had been no issue with the check. INS has now indicated that the “benefits” in question are adjustment of status, naturalization and asylum. Ancillary benefits, such as advance parole and work authorization, are not subject to this process.

So do we know when they will start issuing again.. I mean is it stopped completely untill they figure out how to do it.??

And how long can we expect to hear back from them after the interview..
