I have applied for I-485 on Nov 22, 2001. My checks for I-485, EAD and AP have been encashed on Dec 27,2001.I also got the receipts. I completed 6 years of H1 on Dec 30 2001. My I-94 is upto Oct 2002. I have not applied for 7th year extension because my lawyer says it will confuse INS (because my I-94 is upto Oct 2002). I also have NOT received my EAD. Can I stop working/(getting paid) till I get my EAD? Will I be out of status if I don’t get paid? What are my other options if any? Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
