No decision made within 120 days of the date of Citizeship Interview
I had my interview in June, 2013 in NY. Unfortunately, after I submitted my application and before the interview, I was arrested for the insignificant cause, and my case was dismissed. I brought the court dismissal letter with me to the interview. The officer told me that I should expect a written decision about my application in the mail. More than 120 days passed, and I scheduled an info-pass appointment (October 2013). I was told that my case is under extended processing times because of the unavailable results of the security checks. And it is impossible to predict when the results will be recieved.
I was planning a 3 to 4 months abroad trip that I keep delaying with an expectation of an oath. I am afraid to miss the oath ceremony, but what if the extension times will take a year? Please help with the advice.
