My case might have been driven into a deep hole.
My 485 was allocated at Nebraska Service Center last year. After some month later, NSC transferred the case to a local office AAA in a state different from my living state. My company is also located in my state. So, the local office AAA (wrong office) transferred the case to another local office BBB (correct office) near my city again.
Local office BBB interviewed me and approved my case. I got a 1-year stamp at that time.
Right after the approval I moved my house and filed AR-11.
Today is 90th day since the approval. I have never received my plastic card now.
And, today I received a letter from USCIS, which is saying my request for change of address was received and they changed my address on the file.
This notice was come from local office AAA, neither NSC nor local office BBB. It's amazing! Why the local office AAA is holding my case????
On the letter, there is another sentence. "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open. Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on your case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefit you are seeking...."
Q1) The interviewing immigration officer approved my case because I had passed the background check. Right? Then, what is this letter saying???
Q2) Why the local office AAA replied my change of address request? Where is my file now? My file is really in the local office AAA? Not in the card production center?
Q3) What should I do now to get my plastic card? I am going to visit Infopass. What should I check with the infopass officer?
Any advice or any ideas would be helpful for me.
