Some of you may not be aware that Ireland does not have quotas or caps for qualified IT positions (this includes most software development). You may want to check out positions there if you are one of the unfortunate people who did not get a lotteried H1B visa this year.
Of course, I have a not-so-selfless motive -- I'm a group manager for a major US software company, and we have a new development center in Dublin, Ireland, and are looking to hire some software development engineers.
