10/14/2003: No Annual USCIS File Audit This Year

The USCIS disclosed to the AILA that unlike the practice in the previous years, the USCIS will not conduct the annual file audit this year. It is thus unlikely that processing of cases will be frozen for the file audit in October or later this year. It is a good news for the immigrant community.

Yahoo! now USCIS can start plans for Christmas shopping early!:D

I thought the annual audits were a good thing!! At least USCIS will know the extent of the I-485 backlogs and plan/do something about it. Without audit, they'll assume everything is fine! Besides, the audit takes at most a month. No major waste of time.

I strongly believe that audit is healthy and every organization such USCIS needs to be audited yearly for a proper accountability to the stakeholders. The present situation with USCIS is not healthy.
