Guys

The last approvals that I remember we ever spoke about was around 19th Nov on Rupnet.

There may have been a hadful of approvals that may have come through but for most practical purposes we are almost close to 1.5 months since this whole 485 approval process has come to a grinding halt.

Your thoughts please

Regards and hopefully we will have an approval filled New Year.

And add 120 days to it as there won't be any for next 4 months or so. So it will be 45 + 120 = 165 days pretty soon.
BTW, after 5 paki men on fbi watch list, it is now being demanded that CIA background checks be instituted. I guess these pakis who entered US illegally and are threats may well cause more delays with new CIA checks. Also CIA checks might cause fees to go up, so we might have to mail $1000.00 buck check to INS soon
So this GC thing is all scam and nobody is going to get approved.

Hey BABA

Based on http://www.immigration.com/newsletter1/isd301202.html , ISD (Immigration Services Division of the INS) says (12/30/2002): "Approval notices are being issued on some I-485 applications, including some age-out expedite applications. Claims 3 responses are trickling in. No additional information is available to Service Center Operations at this time."

If I remember correctly, Claims 3 is INS database for CIA/FBI response verifications.

Hence, a wild-guess might be mid-Jan 2003 onwards for beginning of "reasonable" number of approvals being reported here and on rupnet; and around mid-Feb 2003 onwards for normalization of adjudication/approval procedures and subsequently, a "good" number of approvals to follow (?????).

Best wishes for the happy new year!

Its plain and simple. No matter what INS says they are not issuing approvals. This is a novel way of denying GCs. In six to seven months many would be out of jobs and hence they can issue RFE and deny GC. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. Its better to work on alternatives, like Canada or Australia before they close their borders.
This freeze will never end. Even if they end it, they are going to start CIA background checks which will take even more time.
Its that easy. don't have high hopes for approvals before April..
