No Appointment Available @ Delhi, What to do?

Hi,

I want my Mother to come to US by Mid of January '05 and she just got the Passport.
Now, there are no appointment available in Delhi counslate before Feb 15.

What should I do.
Can I get the Visa here for My mom and send it to India, if not, what else can I do.

Please respond if you have any information about it.

As far as I know, attending the Consulate in India is the only way to get a visitor's visa.

I believe they may entertain cases on a priority basis if the there is a real
emergency, and if you can justify that.
