I am thinking to upgrade my NIW to EB1, below are my credentials, could anybody suggest me that my case is strong enough or not for EB1.

1.Currently working on J1 visa, I will get H1B in March 2010.
2.PhD in Human Genetics from Germany
3.working as a postdoc in USA, already completed three years
4.Ten papers in international Journals [2 first Author (one of them is
corresponding author) + 7 co-author],
5.Poster presentations in several international conferences , one oral presentation at the annual meeting of ASH
6.Member of American Society of Hematology
7. More than 100 citation (7 first Author + rest of them as co-author) co-author citations are in very high impact journals. ex Nature, Nature methods, Science and Cell.
8. One our paper where I am co-author was very big news in public media, including BBC. ABC, CNN and most of other media.
9. National Interest Waiver (NIW) approved (priority date 12th November 2008)

I will appreciate yours suggestion

Can you tell us what categories you're aiming to claim for EB1?

Some thoughts (numbering below reflects yours in the post above):

1. Looks like the waiver is in place. Good.
2,3. Good.
4,5. You can claim authorship of scholarly articles.
6. Doesn't count.
7. You can claim original contribution (depends on how you present your case).
8. Did your name get a mention or did the first &/ corresponding author get their names mentioned? If former, you can claim it for one of the criteria.
9. Congrats.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your reply.
I am thinking to go for Extraordinary Ability (EB-1(a),)

8. My name was not mentioned in news paper. Our Prof was first as well as corresponding author in that paper. But BBC and other news paper mentioned the name of our paper, . My prof could write that I played key role in this investigation.

What do you think about this criteria of EB1-A?

Leading role within an organization/establishment with a distinguished reputation.

I could get letter from my current prof, mentioning that I am the leading investigator of his 12 million NIH funded project. Do you think this could full fill one of the EB1-1(a) criteria?

Do you think it can full fill one of the criteria?

Thank again for your comments
