I requsted recommendation letters from NIH. The professors said NIH prohibited them write the letters. How can you guys request the letters from NIH? Any inputs will be welcome.

It is possible to get. I got couple of letters. you have to find the right person.

I had all my letters from people within the NIH. I of course work at the NIH. The thing about NIH prohibiting them from writing recommendation letters is not true. Keep trying and you will find someone who will write you a letter.

while there is such a rule, they can still write a "to whomever it may concern" letter. But there may be some who may write a regular one.
