Dear Gurus,
I am pursuing a J1 waiver. Currently, my waiver site is being updated in the HPSA database and does not therefore show up as an HPSA. I wanted to file for a NIW. My lawyer tells me that we cannot get a letter from the state at this time because the county currently has not been updated as an HPSA. This sounds silly to me because this is a J1 waiver and it still is listed as an MUA. So,
1. If a site is still an MUA (not HPSA), will the state not give a letter for NIW?
2. What happens if a J1 waiver area gets derecognised as an HPSA?
