NIW from VSC approved

CONGRADULATIONS

HAVE YOU APPLIED CONCURRENT FILING (I-485). MY NIW ND MAY 13, 2002. I CALLED VSC LAST WEEK AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON CASES MAY 2, 2001. I APPRICIATE YOUR REPLY.

THANKS

Can you post your background?

Can you post your background? Did you hire a lawyer? or are you a self-petitioner? Thanks.

background

M.D. from Europe. Doing biomedical research. I hired a lawyer, however, I wrote all the recommendation letters myself and he helped me by editing them. My CV wasn't strong, but the letters were good. 3 publications (1st author), 2 awards (one from my country and one from U.S.) and 11 letters.
I found out about this forum after I applied for I-140 and learned many things.

I am preparing to apply NIW on my own. I think I am lucky to find this website before my case being denied. Quite inspired with your experience. How long did it take before you have the letters written? I am afraid that I write everything in the same manner so that INS will find that out and deny the application. How did you choose the referees?
Again, congratulation.

Confidential

Guys, I am not sure whether I should keep the reference letters confidential or not though I may compile some of them myself. If it is an advantage to keep in confidential, how should I do that? I ask the referee to mail the letter to me and keep it un-opened when submit the application (I will file by myself)?

In my case I have sent those open with other documents. I don't think you need to send it in closed envelop.

Re: Confidential

I just filed my NIW to VSC through my lawyer. You even do not have to send the original copy of your reference letters. Fax/Copy is enough.
