NIW case, needs to work for current >6 m after I485 approval?

Ask for one friend. His I-485 was approved by NIW category, no sponsorship from university. Whether he also needs to work for the current university for more than 6 months or he can switch to another university or company immediately after I-485 approval?

His I-485 was filed in Nov, 2001

Well - should not be a problem, if he switches. Anyway wouldn't it be just safer wouldn't a little more patience help....
