trojanblue said:I take it that you have a Ph.D. The rest of your quals look sufficient to get an RFE. My only suggestion to you would be to immediately start working on that. Tell yourself that you have about 6 months or so to file an original petition and start working towards it. When you get an RFE, look at what they have asked and present to complete petition in the required format.
A few questions though:
Are you the PI of these research projects? Did you have a hand in writing the proposal? If you are not a PI, do you have your name on the grant proposal? What is the role you play and the importance of the role in these projects? In other words, are you one of the researchers, or are you a group leader etc?
Your # of journal papers seem alright given that you have only about 3 years of experience. What is important are citations. The number of presentations seems impressive. You might not have much of a problem with independent letters. Get about 12-15 of them and choose the best 8.
Teaching grads and undergrads does not fetch any points from CIS.
The awards that you mention: Are these grant awards? If so, they have no value. By awards, one is talking about major conference awards like "best paper" etc, or senior well known awards, i.e prizes that you win for your work.
Travel awards, research grants, student awards etc carry no weight.
Best of luck with your petition.
