Sorry Nanshi. did not check the board for a while. Did not check the AVM, but the status on both the I 140 and the appeal both are the same,
I140 --" recieved and response on Feb 20....
Appeal---" recieved an ....."
The lawyer says he will have someone all BCIS. still have not heard from him yet.

Thanks for the update. On June 12, 2003, I checked the AVM and the message changed from "Denied" to "Pending", like what the Online status says.
Why can't you check the AVM and find out whether any update or not. If my guessing is correct, AVM should say now that your case is now pending. You can call any time at 1-800-375-5283 and press "1" five times and enter your receipt number.

I think you are wrong. The officer who denied the case will review the appeal petition and decide whether to send it to AAU or not(Source : www.immigration.gov). My appeal petition was assigned to the Officer on January 27, 2003. So I don't think our cases are waiting for getting assigned.
Looks like our cases are getting processed in exactly same manner. If one of us gets any notice or any information, other can also guess that the same thing is going to come.

In the mail i also recieved the receipts for all I485, AP,EAD for both me and my wife.

(In My Case: I got all the receipts in Sept 2002)
2. Did you receive I-485 denial notice?
(I got my I-485, EAD denial letter with my I-140 denial notice. My AP got approved in Nov 2002)
3. I am sure that your lawyer did not receive any kind of information before this approval notice. Kindly confirm this.
