Next two weeks are very very crucial.

Expect (hope) to see few approvals in next two weeks.
Also, the number of approvals would give an idea of the processing speed.

If we do not see approvals by 01/18 ,then their is a possiblity that approvals might not be coming before the march .As the plan might be to begin the approvals by home land security. As I believe by march INS would cease to exist.

01/18 we would get good idea about processing.

HOPE and Pray to see some approvals soon!!!!!!!!!

01/18 is 3 weeks. I think INS restructuring is already underway. Even though homeland security dept. plan hasn't been submitted, the work has already begun.

I think approvals will continue to trickle, though the pace will be greatly reduced. It was pathetic to start with, it's now gonna be worse.

*SIGH*

I hate this uncertainty, don't know about you guys, but I would rather know where I stand rather than live in this legal limbo. I just want to get done with it and move on with my life.

INS is going to give me blood pressure one of these days thanks to all the frustration!

Engineering school back in India was not as frustrating as this :p. I am sure people with that experience know what I am talking about :D

140_takes_4ever,
Its been a long time since i visited this forum.
Yeah I understand......Engineering...man those years with Kt's....
Anyway all the best for your approval...by any chance have you guys thought about CP?.

Thanks.

I was expecting to see atleast few approvals with week in CSC.But in the end not even single case approved after freeze.
Activity on 485 cases in CSC ,is not encouraging. Approvals might tickle (slowly)(maybe) after 24Jan (as ins would merger per following article).

Hope to see approvals soon.

INS will "die" on January 24th

Updated 01/04/03: DHS Organization Chart

In January 24, 2003, current INS will be reorganized into the DHS in the following manner: Current adjudication functions in the Service Centers and local field offices will be transferred to the Director, Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Chart. Current enforcement functions including investigation units, deportation units, immigration inspectors, and border patrols will be transferred to the Bureau of Border Security under the Directorate, Border & Transportation Security. The Bureau of Border Security will be headed by Assistant Secretary who has yet to be named. Directorate of Border & Transportation Security will be headed by Undersecretary Asa Hutchinson. As seen in the Chart, immigration services director will report directly to the Deputy Secretary.
DHS will be led by the Secretary, one Deputy Secretary, 5 Undersecretaries, number of Assistant Secretaries, each reporting to the officer of one level up. Rumor goes the current Acting Commioner of INS, Michael Garcia, may be named for one of these positions, but assuming that the information is reliable, it is unknown whether he will be named for Director of Citizenship & Immigration Services or Assistant Secretary of Border Security. He is from enforcement background.
Under the Homeland Security Act of 2002, the DHS will not be born until January 24, 2003.

It is 01/13 and csc ins approvals situation is gloomy.

Was expecting to see atleast some improvement. But
except for some isolated and sketchy case approvals, no approvals in sight.

only delay tactics ,like issuing rfe, rfe, rfe, rfe,,rfe, rfe, rfe,,rfe, rfe, rfe,,rfe, rfe, rfe, and more rfe.

yup a new trend as a part of the delaying has been the increase in interviews.

Regret why did not go for consular processing ???????????????:o :o :o

Wanted to write a spirited post. but, cannot help it when i look at the csc approvals. more importantly compare it with vsc,tsc .

Ok, then what keeps the me going?
well, csc is part of ins.and that is what keeps me going.
what keeps me going is that i know it is the same service center
which chunking out approvals in 2001 and begining to year 2002.

AND finally there is this hope that may be today is the day when I would see 10-15 aprovals by csc .does not matter those 10-15 approvals does not have my approval . but , would have good night sleep with a hope that tomarrow's 10-15 approvals might have my approvals.

hey dont wake me up ,let me dream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God! I know you like to test people but when does your testing period end??
Please do something before it is too late. Pls get into the minds of the CSC officers and make them work aggresively so that my dear friends in this forum ( including me !! ) get the approvals IMMEDIATELY.
Thanks for all your help god! Pls do reply!

Lets get to reality that CSC or infect INS is trying to delay the process of issuing GC so that most of us go back to our home. INS can not say that it wont issue GC but unofficially INS is doing that. Those who are lucky will get GC in time otherwise most of US will have the news of GC in our home country.

This is fact and lets accept this.

Definitely, it's partially true for I-485's. We are legal here once we apply 485 and need not leave the country. But the true part is if they delay the cases in this economy people may eventually loose jobs and may not be responding to RFE's.
One more thing... it is VSC who approves visas to Atta & Company also it is VSC which approved visa to a terrorist in New York. The thing that makes me wonder is CSC stops/slows down processing once this happens in VSC and VSC continues its speed.
GOD PLEASE.... HELP CSC WAITERS!!!

I could see only one reason that there is a difference in both GC seeker community the one in VSC and one in CSC. In VSC I have seen people who filed there GC long back and are stable in there jobs (exception are also there) so mind of VSC INS is set that most of applicant are in VSC should get GC. Where as in CSC most of GC seekers are those who have changed jobs or lost jobs in past few months. Jobs are more stable in east coast as compared to west coast. Salaries were high in west coast as compared to east coast so chances of loosing job or at least change of salary in west coast were high and hence it is easy to hunt a culprit in west coast as compared to east coast.
I have seen Boston INS also it was not so crowded, Less people - its easy to handle.

4 more working days left in your 2 weeks counter. End of monday, so far no good news. Did you really expect anything else? I hate INS.

INS was suppose to start work from today and we all know that first day after holidays no body works in USA and that is too INS :D
INS never works.
SM I am with you , say we hate INS.

No approvals today..

No approvals today also :( ..... and the wait goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

I would be surprised to see any approvals until this special registration drive is done. Most of INS resources are being spent on registering all the immigrants from the terrorist countries list. Where will they get the time to process other cases?

Once they are done registering those cases, they will start processing them to make sure no terrorist idiotically registered himself/herself by mistake. And only then will they get back into the business of issuing GC's.

So I think we should just chill on a beach with a pina colada in our hands and wait INS out.

Irritating to see Bush spend our application money on all kinds of bullshit, and making us wait for ever.
