Next Steps Following Interview

I had my AOS interview today. They interviewed me and my spouse separately, grilled us on all the questions that are indicated in these forums (see my reply to the interview questions post). Finally the officer said that our application is good (i.e. I 130) but that the background check was not done. hence they couldnt do anything yet for AOS (i.e. I 485) It would take 2-6 weeks for background check

Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, please share your experience.

Do they inform us once this is complete? is this the welcome letter that people have been referring to in the posts?

We also had the same experience. We were not interviewed separately . It was pretty cool & quick. Finally she said she was approving the I-130 but since the background check/name check was not yet complete, she cannot give me the GC as yet. :-( . Online I see the updates as Approval Sent for my I-130 but am yet to get it in my hands. Also, under the I-485 the status is - Interview conducted. Case under review. God knows when the name check/ background check will be done. Just crossing my fingers and waiting. The worst part is - my EAD has not been approved as yet. The AP - it says Approval notice sent.
Hopefully things will move soon. Will keep updating here.
