Next steps - establishing domicile

Hi,

I'm a U.S. citizen living with my wife in Canada, and I've submitted an I-130 to sponsor my wife. I understand that when an I-130 is approved and we want to go to the next step, I will have to establish domicile in the U.S., even if I have a co-sponsor for the affidavit of support. My question is, what (at a minimum) is necessary to establish domicile. In particular, will I have to move to the U.S., have a job there, and formally give up my Canadian residency status? In my case, I have a few things that might help establishing domicile, and I'm wondering what else might be needed. Ideally, I would want to stay with my wife in Canada until she gets approved, and I don't want to lose Canadian residency status in case there' s a problem getting her approved. Here's what I have so far:

Visit the U.S. about once a month and stay at my parents in NY.
Have a bank account in the U.S.
Have credit cards and an investment account listing the U.S. address.
Have 1099misc tax forms showing income for 2011 and previous years as a contractor with the U.S. address
Filed/paid NY taxes each year
Might possibly be buying a house in the U.S.; however, it might not close by the time we want to send the I-485

Thanks
