newbie question

I am a Canadian citizen who will be done my post secondary education in may, after that I will be looking for work in the States, my question is can I obtain a working visa by myself or do I need to be sponsored in by an employer? I just don't want to be at a disadvantage when applying for jobs.

Canadians require a special kind of visa called "TN" visa. I'm not very familiar with that visa but you can run a Google search about TN visa and you'll find useful links.
