Hello,
i came to usa on student visa back in 2000....got out of status in 2004 due to financial problem ......me and my long term girlfriend are engaged now ....we are planning to get married on feb 17th.....I would like to know when am i supposed to file application after I get married ???I know this much that since my fiance is a us citizen i can become legal thru her....that would fall in immigration thru family member catagory.
I am reading stuff in uscis website.....looks like lot of work ...dont know where and how to start after we get married u know

Any suggestions will help

You can file anytime after you get married.

It is a lot of work, but I think it's much easier than all the other immigration ways. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
