Preparation:
- InfoPass, Passport, I485 Approval notice, and 2 pics are a must
- EAD/AP/I94 are likely optional, but they may ask for it, so bring them
- Go to CVS for your pics... you get a sheet of 16 passport-style photos for 7.99$ (or 6.99$ depending where you go); the technician will even walk you through it, so that you can do it next time you have to do this; this is such a wonderful product, you'll be very impressed with the software and quality of the machine

Getting There:
-Take 78 to Rt 21 N.
-On RT 21 N, take Broad St.
-Drive up Broad St, and make your first (I think) right after Kinney St. This will lead you into the parking lot for 970 Broad St. You pay when you leave, and it's 11$ max.

Getting in:
-You walk around to the other side of the building (signs are there)
-You get inside, and you are instructed to put all your valuables and empty all your pockets, and put them in your coat. You then put everything (files, umbrellas, coat) on the belt, and you walk through the metal detector.
-You take the elevator to the third floor.
-Once there, you are asked to produce your InfoPass appt, and you get to pass the guard.
-You make a quick left, go down the hall, and make a right, and stand in line.

In-line:
-We got there at 10:30 for an 11:00 appointment, and we were fine. I highly suggest you get an appointment no later than 10:00, or take an appointment at 14:00 or later, and you'll see why in a minute.
-Once in line, you will be called to one of the first 5 open windows, where you will produce your InfoPass and Approval notice.
-You are then given a number, along with a blank form which you do NOT fill out, and your approval notice.
- Make a note of the 2 or 3 people behind you. This will be important later.

Waiting:
-You wait until you are called. They didn't call our number by noon (we were two numbers too late). They all went to lunch at the same time. We had to wait until 13:30 for our number to be called (and then for the next 30 minutes, they called 15 numbers). So, get there before 10!

At the window:
-Now, you get your processing done. The person does very little, and asks for your passport and 2 pictures and (if any) EAD/AP/I94. I think this is just a courtesy request to take these things out of circulation, but, you might as well bring them and get rid of them to them.
-Note: make sure you give the pics, even if they don't ask for them. Sometimes they forget, as they did to an earlier couple that day.
She will give you your passport back.
-After making a couple of notes, they ask you to sit down, and someone will come out in a few minutes and ask for your passport, so that it can be stamped.

Waiting for the passport call:
-A guy will come out, and he will call out your name, and you go to him to bring your passport.
-We waited two hours, but only because of a snafu with the agent. She misplaced our papers, as it turned out. If you are waiting for more than 90 minutes (or if you see people who were behind you are being called and not you... hopefully, you remembered to look at who was behind you), go back to the window, and ask the agent if there's a problem.

Waiting for the passport return:
-You go back to your seat, and wait 30 minutes. Your passport will have been stamped.
-They'll call your name, take your passport, and you are on your way.
Ensure that it is stamped with a 1-yr expiry date.
-You should get your picture Green Card in 2 months from what I hear, though they say 3 to 12 months.

Wow! This is all great and detailed information! Just what I needed, I'm going for my passport stamping at the same location tomorrow morning (8:30 AM). Thanks!!

Infopass Appointment

Thanks for the post. These gave us a great idea about the environment and process at INS office.

Unfortunately we didnot get the appointment together. My wife is the primary applicant but i got the earlier appointment than her. My main question is

Do we both need to get the appointments? Or If one of us is having the appointment, can we both appear for stamping?

Thanks in advance.....
