Here is my time-line for the Newark, NJ office

Priority Date: June 5th 2003

Fingerprint Date: End of July 2003

Interview Date: May 10th 2004 Morning

Oath Date : May 10th 2004 Afternoon

Applied for Passport : May 10th Afternoon

NJ has interview and oath on the same date. Went in the morning at 9 AM to the Newark Bldg. Waited for 2 hours. Interviewed for 20 mts. Then waited for 2 hours for the oath. Was out by 2 PM

Interview experience

People have different experiences based upon the person who is interviewing. My wife who had her interview on the same day was interviewed by a lady who was friendly, interactive and kept the conversation going. She was asked 4-5 questions (what is the constituion, who makes the laws, name the 2 senators from NJ etc.)

Mine was a different experience. I was asked 4-5 questions (capital of NJ, 3 branches of govt, how many stars in the flag etc.). Then there was total silence on the interviewer's part for 10 minutes. He leafed through each page in my file slowly. I did not open my mouth during that period. At the end of 10 minutes he handed me back the sheet that contained the oath schedule

Hope this helps

Congratulations loyal_indian! You bring up a good point...not to chat while he was going through the paperwork... :D

So...which route are you planning to take...the Visitor visa, PIO or OIC passport?
