Newark AOS interview

for those who filed for Green card thru marriage to USC....

Application Mailed==11/25/2002
Receipt date==11/27/2002
FingerPrinted== 12/15/2002
EAD== 02/21/2003
AOS interview== Sept/2003(Next Month)==receipt date was 05/26/2003.

Anyway i finally recieved this letter for AOS interview....

Its surprising you got the letter so late compared to amintrouble and economan, but its good that you received it finally...

I think amintrouble was last guys who got out in time, after that i think Newark office is going thru some major restructuring, or maybe some new rules are being introduced.

i was calling INS national # and they have been telling me it is taking 8 months to process this kind of cases.( Reciept says 180 days) . i wrote them a letter about my case status--no reply.
i went there personally and after waiting for 3 hrs in the line, the officer said you have to wait for 2 more months( that is 8 months)
and i was out of the building in less then 180 seconds.believe me guys.

Keep cool, calling BCIS,or Senetor or visiting Newark office is not going to help, just wait for Documents to show up in your mailbox's...

zking - I have to go next week for my wife's EAD. How long did the process took for you when you went there. Ikazmi just posted that she was there from 8:30 am till 2:30 pm...

Newark may be fast in some cases as far as the processing time is concerned, but they make you wait in the office for a long time.

I was asked to come around 11:30 PM for the EAD and I was there from 11:15 to about 3:30 PM. The EAD process, verification of papers, picture taking and getting the card took only 15-20 mins.

Anyway, I don't want to sound like I am complaining. I am very happy with the Newark office.

no, they did not stamped my Passport, said i will have to wait for CIA check...

that's it
