New USCIS chief optimistic to eliminate the backlog

I hope you are aware that USCIS does not counts the backlogs due to retrogression as their own.

The following is verbatim from the GAO report of USCIS.
"The availability of visas issued by the Department of State will not affect the backlog as defined by USCIS because USCIS excludes from its count of backlog those cases for which a visa is not available."

USCIS backlog elimination plan:

1. Retrogress to 1992
2. Process the two guys still waiting since then
3. Backlog gone!!!

Lou Dobbs reported two weeks ago the contradiction below:

"(...)
DOBBS: The head of this nation's Citizenship and Immigration Service last year said President Bush's guest worker program was simply unworkable. Today, Emilio Gonzalez said the president's guest worker program is workable, a breathtaking reversal even by Washington's standards. Christine Romans has the report. (...) "

Yes I agree that most of us still dont know the depth and exact nature of the problem we are facing.

Clueless

After reading this article I am 100 percent sure that we should all be praying that there is no guest worker proposal passed. It will absolutely kill any movement in our petitions. This guy is so clueless it is pathetic and on top of that he is saying this after just 2 months in the job, that he can say so confidently reversing the prior view is shocking. Does he even have a clue what tsunami is in the BECs coming his way. He, to me sounds like a 3rd world politician promising developed world status by the end of the year! It is shocking the rubbish people say when they are playing politics. Sadly that is what this issue has become politics. The more it gets mixed up with the illegals the more politics it is.
Our best hope is a limited EB relief measure that passes as part of some other bill that then continues this painfully slow and fragmented process. America sadly will not stand for a more general step to eliminate these waits even for legal immigrants due to security concerns.
