New to I-485.. got questions..

Hi all,
I recently got my I-140 approval and am collecting my paperwork for 485 stage. My PD is current (will stay current in Oct too). My question is, does INS approve 485s based on PD or when they receive the application for 485 (ND)? Also, does EB2 or EB3 matter anymore? My details (just in case)- India, EB2/RIR, PD-Sep 7, 1999, I-140 AD - 21st Sep 2000. Thanks in advance for your responses.

From my understanding, the INS approves applications based on ND (first) and then, PD. I am not sure if they take into consideration the EB-category.

INS takes into account I485 ND first and then PD. Of course ur PD has to be current for u to file ur I485.

Category matters a lot. EB-3 PD\'s are lagging far behind. EB2\'s are almost current. Also, the #of EB2\'s are far lesser than #of EB3\'s on an average.

Hope this answers ur ?\'s
